Last modified: 2026-10-06

Infinite Campus, Inc., and its affiliated entities (collectively “Infinite Campus”) respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This policy describes the types of information we collect, or that you provide, when you download, install, access, or use the Infinite Campus Mobile Payments app (the “App”), and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.

This policy applies only to information we collect in and through the App. It does not apply to:

  • Information we collect on any other Infinite Campus app, software, or website, which is governed by our Privacy Policy; or

  • Information that you provide to, or that is collected by, any third party, including our payment processor, which maintains its own privacy policy (see “Third-Party Services and Payment Processing” below).

It also does not apply to education records maintained within the Infinite Campus student information system on behalf of educational agencies, which are governed by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and are addressed in our FERPA Compliance and Student Data Privacy Policy.

Please read this policy carefully. By downloading, registering with, or using the App, you agree to this policy. This policy may change from time to time (see “Changes to This Policy”). Your continued use of the App after we revise this policy means you accept those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.

Information We Collect and How We Collect It

We collect information from and about users of the App directly from you when you provide it, and automatically when you use the App.

Information you provide to us. When you use the App, we may collect:

  • Information by which you may be personally identified, such as your name, email address, phone number, account identifiers, and similar information defined as personal or personally identifiable information under applicable law (“personal information”).

  • Payment and transaction details. To make a payment through the App, you provide payment information, which is collected and processed by our third-party payment processor as described in “Third-Party Services and Payment Processing” below. Infinite Campus does not store full payment card numbers.

  • Records of your correspondence with us if you contact us for support or to report a problem.

Information we collect automatically. When you access and use the App, we may automatically collect the same categories of technical information described in our Privacy Policy for our mobile apps:

  • Usage details, such as your activity within the App and technical log data, collected to operate the App and to detect and diagnose errors.

  • Diagnostic, crash, and app-event data, together with associated device and network information, such as device model, operating system version, device state, application logs, network connection status and type, and mobile carrier.

  • An installation identifier that is assigned to the app instance rather than to you personally.

We do not collect precise geolocation through the App, we do not access your device’s address book or stored files, and we do not collect or use an advertising identifier. We do not log a device identifier that would link automatically collected data back to a specific person.

Device features we use. With your permission, the App uses certain features of your device for specific functions:

  • Bluetooth. The App uses Bluetooth to connect to the payment card reader so that card payments can be taken. We use Bluetooth only to connect to and communicate with the card reader, not to determine your location or to track you.

  • Camera. During district setup, the App uses your device’s camera to help connect a new device (for example, to scan a code). We use the camera only for this setup function.

You can allow or deny these device permissions through your device’s settings. If you deny a permission, the related function (such as taking a card payment or setting up a new device) may not work.

Information Collection Technologies

The technologies we may use for automatic information collection include cookies (or mobile cookies), which are small files used to identify your device and remember your preferences. If you disable or refuse cookies, some parts of the App may be inaccessible or may not function properly.

Third-Party Services and Payment Processing

Payments made through the App are processed by Stripe, Inc., our third-party payment processor. When you make a payment, you provide payment information directly to Stripe through the App, and Stripe collects and processes that information to complete the transaction in a PCI DSS-compliant environment. Infinite Campus does not store full payment card numbers. Stripe’s handling of your information is governed by Stripe’s privacy policy, available at https://stripe.com/privacy, which is incorporated herein by reference.

Other third parties, such as analytics providers acting as our service providers, and your mobile device manufacturer and mobile service provider, may collect information about your device when you use the App. Where a third party acts as our service provider, it is bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and to use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it. We do not control the independent collection practices of your device manufacturer or mobile carrier.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect, or that you provide, to:

  • Provide you with the App and its contents, and the products and services you request;

  • Process and facilitate payments you make through the App, including routing payments to the applicable school or school district;

  • Carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contract between you and us;

  • Notify you about App updates and changes to the products or services we offer;

  • Respond to your support requests and investigate and address your concerns; and

  • Maintain the safety, security, and integrity of the App.

We use usage and device information primarily to operate, maintain, and improve the App, including to diagnose problems and to recognize you when you return.

How We Disclose Your Information

We may disclose aggregated or deidentified information that does not identify any individual or device without restriction. We may disclose personal information that we collect, or that you provide:

  • To our affiliated entities;

  • To contractors, service providers, and other third parties who support our business and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep personal information confidential and to use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it;

  • To our payment processor to facilitate your payment;

  • To the applicable school or school district for which the payment was made;

  • To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Infinite Campus, Inc.’s assets, or as part of a bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding;

  • To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it, and for any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide it;

  • With your consent;

  • To comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including responding to any government or regulatory request; and

  • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Infinite Campus, Inc., our customers, or others, including for fraud prevention.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use personal information for targeted advertising or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

Children’s Information

The App is intended to be used by adults, such as parents and guardians, to make payments to schools and districts. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Where a payment relates to a student, any student education record associated with that payment is maintained by the student’s educational agency and governed by FERPA, not by this policy.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child without appropriate consent, please contact us at privacy@infinitecampus.com. We do not sell the personal information of consumers we know to be under the age of 16.

Your State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state of residence, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding the personal information we collect from you through the App. These rights do not apply to education records maintained on behalf of educational agencies under FERPA, which are exempt from state consumer privacy laws.

Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, many of the opt-out rights described below will not require action on your part. We include them for transparency and to comply with disclosure obligations.

  • Right to Know / Confirm, Access, and Portability. You may request confirmation of whether we process your personal information and, if so, access to that information and a copy in a portable, readily usable format.

  • Right to Correct. You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you.

  • Right to Delete. You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to exceptions permitted by law. Infinite Campus cannot delete education records independently; please contact your school or district to request deletion of education data.

  • Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing. Infinite Campus does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for targeted advertising.

  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond what is necessary to provide the service you requested.

  • Right to Non-Discrimination and to Appeal. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. If we deny your request, you may appeal by contacting us at the address below.

California’s “Shine the Light” law (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83) permits California residents to request information about disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

To exercise any right described above, contact us at privacy@infinitecampus.com or at the address in “Contact Information” below. We will verify your identity before fulfilling your request and will respond within the time required by your state’s law (generally 45 days, with extensions as permitted). You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.

Your Choices About Our Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Your Information

Tracking technologies. You can set your device or browser to refuse all or some cookies, or to alert you when cookies are sent. If you disable cookies, some parts of the App may be inaccessible or may not function properly.

Data Security

We have implemented measures designed to protect your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. Information you provide through the App is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS), and payment information is transmitted to our payment processor over an encrypted, PCI DSS-compliant connection.

The transmission of information over the internet and mobile platforms is not completely secure. Although we take reasonable measures to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its security, and any transmission is at your own risk.

Retention

We retain personal information collected through the App for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, to complete and record transactions, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce our agreements. Payment and transaction records are retained as required by applicable financial, tax, and recordkeeping laws. Payment information processed by our payment processor is retained according to the processor’s own practices and policies.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. The date this policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. Your continued use of the App after we post changes means you accept those changes, so please check this policy periodically for updates.
