Formerly the Terms of Use. This Acceptable Use Policy is the current version of what Infinite Campus previously called its Terms of Use. The name has changed, but this is the same instrument, and links or references to the “Terms of Use” now point here. Renaming the document does not reset or restart your obligations, and your continued use of the Products remains subject to these rules.
This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) explains the rules for using Infinite Campus products and services (“Products”). It applies to everyone who uses the Products (“Users”). By using the Products, you agree to follow this Policy.
This Policy works alongside the End User License Agreement between Infinite Campus and your school or district. If anything in this Policy conflicts with the End User License Agreement, the End User License Agreement controls.
Infinite Campus follows all applicable student data privacy laws, including FERPA and COPPA.
If you are under 18, your use of the Products is authorized by your school or district. By using the Products, you and your parent or guardian agree to follow this Policy.
1 – YOUR ACCOUNT
1.1 Keeping Your Account Secure
Your account belongs to you alone. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. You must:
(a) keep your username and password private. Do not share them with anyone;
(b) use a strong password that you do not use on other websites or services;
(c) notify your school or district right away if you think someone else has used your account; and
(d) log out when using a shared or public computer.
1.2 Do Not Access What Is Not Yours
You must not:
(a) access any account, data, or area of the Products that you are not authorized to use;
(b) log in with someone else’s username or password;
(c) share your login credentials with anyone, including coworkers or family members;
(d) try to gain higher-level access than what you have been given;
(e) use bots, scripts, or other automated tools to access the Products;
(f) provide your login credentials to any third-party application, service, website, or script that is not expressly authorized by Infinite Campus, even if you intend to access only your own data;
(g) operate, develop, distribute, offer, or promote any application, browser extension, plug-in, add-on, or other software (whether first-party or third-party) that requests, collects, stores, transmits, or uses the login credentials of any User of the Products, unless such software has been expressly approved in writing by Infinite Campus;
(h) install, use, or encourage others to install any browser extension, desktop application, mobile application, or script that asks Users to enter their Infinite Campus login credentials outside of an official Infinite Campus login page, unless that extension or application has been expressly approved in writing by Infinite Campus; or
(i) create, host, or distribute any website, web page, application, or digital interface that imitates, replicates, or is designed to be confused with an Infinite Campus login page, portal, or other official Infinite Campus interface for the purpose of collecting credentials, personal information, or any other data from Users (commonly known as “phishing” or “spoofing”).
2 – WHAT YOU MUST NOT UPLOAD OR STORE
2.1 Prohibited Content
You are responsible for everything you upload, create, share, or store in the Products (“Your Content”). You must not upload or store content that:

(c) contains viruses, malware, ransomware, spyware, or other harmful code;
(d) is designed to attack or test the security of any system;
(e) is pornographic, obscene, or sexually explicit;
(f) depicts or promotes harm to children;
(g) promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against any group;
(h) is fraudulent, deceptive, or defamatory; or
(i) violates any law.
2.2 Copyright
Do not upload, copy, or share material that belongs to someone else unless you have permission. If you believe content in the Products infringes your copyright, you may submit a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) to:
Infinite Campus, Inc.

Infinite Campus may remove infringing content and may terminate access for repeat infringers.
2.3 Restricted File Types
Certain file types that pose security risks (such as .exe, .jsp, .dll, and .bat) cannot be uploaded. A current list is available in the Infinite Campus knowledge base. Renaming a file to get around these restrictions is prohibited.

3.3 Prohibited Third-Party Software and Impersonation
The following activities are strictly prohibited regardless of intent:
(a) developing, distributing, hosting, or promoting any browser extension, application, plug-in, script, or other software that requests, intercepts, collects, stores, or transmits Infinite Campus login credentials (whether your own or those of any other User) unless such software has been expressly approved in writing by Infinite Campus;
(b) building, hosting, operating, or sharing any website, web page, or digital interface that impersonates, mimics, or could reasonably be mistaken for an official Infinite Campus login page, portal, dashboard, or communication;
(c) using Infinite Campus logos, trademarks, trade dress, color schemes, or design elements to create the false impression that an unauthorized website, application, or communication is affiliated with or endorsed by Infinite Campus;
(d) distributing links, QR codes, emails, or other communications that direct Users to any unauthorized login page or credential-collection mechanism; and
(e) soliciting, incentivizing, or tricking other Users into entering their Infinite Campus credentials anywhere other than an official Infinite Campus login page.
These prohibitions apply whether the activity occurs inside or outside the Products and whether or not the person engaging in the activity is a current User. Violation of this section may result in immediate account termination and referral to law enforcement.
4 – YOUR CONTENT
4.1 Ownership
You own Your Content. This Policy does not give Infinite Campus ownership of anything you upload. By uploading content, you give Infinite Campus permission to host, store, back up, and display it as needed to run the Products.
4.2 Backups Are Your Responsibility
The Products are not a backup service. Infinite Campus maintains its own backups for disaster recovery, but you should always keep your own separate copies of important files. Infinite Campus is not responsible for lost or damaged content that you could have protected by keeping your own backup.
4.3 Sharing
If you share content with others through the Products, those people may view, copy, or re-share it. Think carefully about what you share and with whom.
5 – WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU BREAK THESE RULES
5.1 Monitoring
Infinite Campus has no obligation to monitor Your Content. However, Infinite Campus may review and remove content that violates this Policy or the law, or that threatens the security of the Products. Your organization’s administrators may have the ability to view your account activity, access your stored content, and manage your account settings. Infinite Campus is not responsible for actions taken by your organization’s administrators.
5.2 Consequences
If you violate this Policy, Infinite Campus may, without prior notice:
(a) remove the offending content;
(b) suspend or permanently disable your account;
(c) restrict your access to certain features;
(d) notify your organization’s administrator; or
(e) report illegal activity to law enforcement.
5.3 Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this Policy by another User, please report it to your organization’s administrator or to Infinite Campus.
5.4 Law Enforcement
Infinite Campus shares User information or content with law enforcement or other government agencies only when the law requires it, such as when we receive a valid subpoena, court order, or warrant, and only the part that is required. We do not hand over information just because someone asks.
If the information is part of the school records or other data we keep for your school or district, we will send the request to them and follow their direction, unless otherwise required by law.
5.5 No Liability for Enforcement
By using the Products, you agree that Infinite Campus will not be liable for any actions taken in good faith to investigate or enforce this Policy, including removing content, suspending access, disclosing information to law enforcement or regulatory authorities, or cooperating with any investigation. You waive, to the extent permitted by applicable law, any claims against Infinite Campus arising from such actions.
6 – CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
Infinite Campus may update this Policy at any time. Changes take effect when posted. If you continue to use the Products after a change, you accept the updated Policy.
