Q&A with Glenpool Public Schools

Matt Fore, Educational Support Services Director

Over the 10+ years that Glenpool Public Schools has been on Infinite Campus, they’ve built a strong foundation. As they looked to bring more of the teaching and learning experience into their Campus ecosystem, Glenpool began exploring Campus Learning Suite.

For Matt Fore, Educational Support Services Director, that work has provided a closer look at how those tools and data show up in everyday use. In some cases, that visibility has made a meaningful difference for students in real time.

From classroom workflows to district-wide collaboration, Fore shares how Infinite Campus and Campus Learning Suite are shaping day-to-day practices and helping Glenpool better support both students and teachers.

How would you describe your experience with Infinite Campus?

I was part of the selection committee, and a few of us visited surrounding districts to see what they were using. When it came time to choose a new SIS, Infinite Campus easily won us over. It’s easy to work with and convenient for our teachers, students, and parents.

I’ve worked on the admin side the whole time, and it’s exactly what we needed. Having that communication line constantly open has been wonderful. It’s been an incredible experience - Campus keeps getting better every year!

Glenpool is participating in the Campus Learning Suite pilot program. How did that come to be?

When we were asked to participate, I was more than ready to volunteer. Infinite Campus helps us out so much, I wanted to return the favor.

I found some teachers who wanted to break away from Google Classroom and get everything centralized. That was the key, along with finding teachers who would give both me and Campus open and honest feedback. Most of our participating teachers are at the high school, with one at the middle school.

A few months in, we had a meeting with all the teachers involved, and I was surprised by how well they’d been coming along and how hard they’d been playing with it. They’ve been giving great feedback, and it’s been a very positive experience.

Has Campus Learning Suite affected classroom workflows?

There are extra steps in Google Classroom that teachers don’t have to deal with anymore. Our hope is to get to a point where teachers fully use Infinite Campus.

It has improved workflow with the Curriculum Library. Our teachers are getting to know it and use it properly, and that’s going to help tremendously. The question bank is another big plus too.

What features are teachers using most?

The Quiz feature is used quite a lot. They love that. Some teachers have started using rubrics for grading, especially in the English department for essays and projects. The Curriculum Planner is also coming along very well.

Can you talk about your district's experience with the Engagement Check-In tool?

When we first introduced it, we had quite a few teachers try it out. The very first time the middle school used it, we had a student respond that he wasn’t feeling great and he didn’t want to live anymore. We caught that, staff intervened, and now he’s doing wonderful. The whole pilot was worth it for that one student and the difference it made!

Have you experienced any challenges while implementing the LMS across the district?

The biggest challenge is breaking teachers away from what they’re used to and getting the old guard on board. They’re very comfortable with what they already know, and in many cases, they already have things set up the way they want.

Fortunately, we have teachers who are saying “Infinite Campus is better. Come over here and jump on the wagon.” Next year, we are going to make all of our new-hire teachers use it.

Are teachers outside of the pilot asking about Campus Learning Suite?

Yes, they definitely are. One of our ninth grade English teachers is ready to move all his peers to Campus Learning Suite; they’ve heard so much about it from him. The fire is spreading!

How has Infinite Campus helped improve educational outcomes for students at Glenpool?

Infinite Campus has provided us a way to pull in data that goes beyond state testing. We can analyze it inside Infinite Campus and identify the students who need enrichment and those who are ready for interventions.

It also helps when our teachers get together in PLC groups. They can pull that data right there and show other teachers which students may need support. They don’t have to go to this site, then this site, then this site to figure it out. It’s all right there. It’s convenient.

Is there any advice you would give districts considering Campus Learning Suite?

Campus Learning Suite brings everything into one system. That ease and simplicity is a huge factor in the success we’re experiencing.

As an admin, I can see where everything is, the standards being applied, the grades put in, and the progress students are making. Parents can log in to Campus Parent and see everything as well, so it’s more transparent.

Get your teachers involved before the school year starts, before their habits get developed and roots get too deep. That’s going to help with our transition next year because they’ll start off with a better understanding of how it works.

Describe what it was like working with the Campus team during the Campus Learning Suite pilot.

It’s been great. Their support and communication have been wonderful. If I’m struggling with something, they’re quick to share resources, handouts, video links, and step-by-step help.

They kept encouraging us and working through it with us. Miles, the project manager assisting us with the pilot, especially kept saying, “You’re good. Don’t worry about it. Let’s figure this out.”

That level of support has really been the selling point for me. They’ve listened closely to our teachers, provided helpful feedback, and kept us updated. It’s clear they’re hearing what districts need and are responding to it.

What feedback have you heard from parents and students about using Infinite Campus as an SIS?

One thing we hear frequently from parents is that when grades are put in, they know right away. They like that they don’t have to wait for a parent/teacher conference or a report card. They also like that they can communicate quickly and instantly. It’s a big factor for them!

Our students know how to use the system and are comfortable. They know where to go and how to find what they need. As Campus Learning Suite becomes part of their daily routine, they’ll know exactly what to look for when they sit down for class.

With elementary parents, they aren’t always used to being in the app regularly. This year, we’re requiring them to complete their annual update in Campus or they won’t be able to view schedules, grades, or anything else.

Why would you recommend Infinite Campus to districts looking to switch SIS providers?

Infinite Campus is simple, it’s easy, it’s clean. When you need help, they’re there. It’s not just a “you bought it, good luck, see you later” kind of deal. The support is amazing, and when we have a question, we usually have an answer within 10 minutes. That support has helped us become a better provider of education.
