Weston Public Schools serves a residential suburb located 12 miles west of Boston. The district consists of five schools and since 1999, they have had an integrated pre-school with classrooms at the elementary schools to educate children with special needs.
Weston was using an antiquated flat-file data system that was not serving their needs and were looking for a single solution. In 2013, after careful consideration, they chose Infinite Campus. Dr. Lee McCanne, Director of Technology and School Libraries, was integral in the selection and implementation of Infinite Campus District Edition, “Implementing Infinite Campus vastly expanded and changed how our faculty used the SIS, providing new capabilities we had not even considered previously.”
Partner in Achieving Goals
Weston works closely with Custom Computer Specialists, Inc. headquartered in Hauppauge, New York. Custom is an Infinite Campus Channel Partner that provides training, service and support to Campus customers in northeastern states. Linda Maier, Client Executive, and the client success team have been integral in helping customers succeed. “Linda and her team truly represent our needs and can make things happen when we need them. They have not been a roadblock as we experienced with previous systems, rather a partner to assist us in achieving our goals,” said McCanne.
Excellent Support with Campus Community
McCanne added that Infinite Campus Support through the Campus Community has been tremendously helpful. “We’ve always received prompt assistance in resolving our issues and getting answers to questions, with appropriately increased attention and response time afforded to high-priority and urgent issues. I also applaud Campus Support’s genuine efforts to follow up on open issues to ensure we’ve been helped,” said McCanne.
Response to Industry Trends
Weston has been using Infinite Campus for four years and is impressed with how the product keeps growing and continuing to be responsive to the needs and overall trends in education. “Infinite Campus has enabled our district to move forward with data visualizations that we never thought possible,” said McCanne.
Tableau = "Tight Integration"
Weston has taken advantage of Tableau, an optional product that allows them to combine data from Infinite Campus such as grades, attendance, behavior and much more, with other common data sources into unified data visualizations. With it, Weston can make more informed decisions and create reports and data dashboards that inherit the roles and permissions from Infinite Campus. “We love the tight integration with Tableau, this is huge for our schools," stated McCanne.

Weston looks forward to utilizing Infinite Campus for its added functionality and integration. Saving time and resources spent on administrative tasks are an added benefit.
