Sixteen Infinite Campus Districts Recognized for Innovative Uses of Technology

June 16, 2014 – Blaine, Minn. – Infinite Campus announced that 16 districts using its student information system (SIS) are among 44 national winners in the tenth annual Digital School Districts Survey. Conducted by the Center for Digital Education (CDE) and the National School Boards Association, the survey recognizes public school districts for expanding their use of innovative technology in classrooms and district-wide. Winners showcased exemplary uses of technology to improve district operations, govern the district and enhance communication with students, parents and the community.

The School District of Janesville (SDJ), Wis., which placed second in the Mid-sized Student Population District Category, upgraded from an outdated SIS to Infinite Campus in 2013. The district chose Infinite Campus for its extensive functionality and vision for how technology could transform the classroom.

I am beyond proud that we were recognized as one of the strongest technology programs in the nation,” says Dr. Robert Smiley, SDJ Chief Information Officer. “It's an immense honor.”

According to Dr. Smiley, switching to Infinite Campus expanded and complemented the district’s innovative uses of technology. “The School District of Janesville is an action-oriented, results-driven district with student achievement as its first priority. Technology is a critical driver to advance results, making us more effective while providing student data at our fingertips, informing our next steps in classroom instruction.”

Charlie Kratsch, Infinite Campus Founder and CEO, says it’s exciting that so many districts share the company’s passion for combining advanced educational ideas and innovative technology. “These districts can relate to our mission of Transforming K12 Education,” says Kratsch. “Congratulations to the School District of Janesville, the 15 additional winners using Infinite Campus and all the districts that were recognized.”

All U.S. school districts may participate in the survey within one of three categories based on enrollment size. According to Alan Cox, Senior Vice President for the CDE, the winners are embracing technology and effectively using it to teach and advance education. “These education leaders serve as an inspiration to other school districts nationwide for their creative efforts to provide an outstanding education for today’s students.”
