Converting to Campus
To many districts, the thought of implementing a new SIS seems like an unmanageable task. With Infinite Campus, experiences professionals ease the process so districts, like Annandale, are up and running quickly.
Infinite Campus manages the transition using the most effective Product Implementation Methodology for project management, data conversion, training, customer development and application hosting.
Annandale received a customized implementation that was based on their business culture, district resources and pace at which their stakeholders embrace change.
“Implementing a new SIS is not easy,” explained Scot Kerbaugh, Annandale High School Principal. “But with the support from Infinite Campus, our transition went very well. Now our data is cleaner, more accurate and we have an updated SIS!”
Multiple Support Options
Phone support is always available with Infinite Campus. With a 97 percent support satisfaction rating, calls are answered by a support team member within three rings.
“The support line is second to none compared to any other SIS I’ve worked with in my career,” stated Kerbaugh.
An extensive online support option, the Campus Community, is available 24/7. In the Campus Knowledge Base, Annandale staff can find comprehensive product information. They can also use the Campus Forums to connect with other users to ask for help or share solutions.
According to Kerbaugh, “We rely heavily on the Campus Community. Almost all of our staff members are users. The Community has given us the tools to learn the product independently and efficiently. It’s phenomenal.”
Through the Campus Portal, Annandale stakeholders have access to grades, attendance, assignments, schedule information and more. With real-time updates, parents are more involved, and students are more proactive.
“More than 50 percent of our parents have a Campus Portal account,” said Kerbaugh. “This year, we’re making a big push for students to use it on a daily basis.”
From any Apple® iOS or Android® device, the same information is accessed through the Campus Mobile Portal, an intuitive and user-friendly app. Users can enable ‘push notifications’ that automatically send alerts for grade, assignment and attendance changes.
“Second quarter, we will not be printing schedules to save time and resources. Instead, students will check them on the Portal,” stated Kerbaugh. “Portal usage will increase their accountability.”
Annandale maximized their investment by adding Campus Messenger with Voice to their Infinite Campus SIS. This optional premium product can be used for routine or emergency notifications. Telephone numbers and email addresses are extracted from Campus in real time to ensure the most up-to-date contact information and messages are distributed to designated stakeholders within seconds.
“Currently, we’re using Messenger with Voice for routine notifications,” explained Kerbaugh. “But we plan to use it this year for urgent situations including late starts, school closings and weather alerts. Infinite Campus eliminates the need for a third-party messaging system, again saving valuable time and resources.”
Plans for the Future
Since implementing Infinite Campus in May 2013, Annandale has already seen a great return on investment. However, the district won’t stop there. They want to use it to its full potential.
“Infinite Campus allows us to use one system for all our needs. With the amount of functionality it offers, we have not even scratched the surface. But when we’re ready to explore new ways to improve our district processes, Infinite Campus will be there.”
