Firth School District 59, Idaho, Selects Infinite Campus

September 21, 2016 – Blaine, Minn. – Infinite Campus was selected by Firth School District 59 (FSD) as its new student information system (SIS) for its time-saving features, optimized reporting capabilities and web-based functionality.

The main reason FSD upgraded their legacy SIS is because of data integrity. “We had a long history of losing data in PowerSchool, as the server-based system would cycle information nightly,” said Destry Jones, the district’s Director of Technology.

Jones had used Infinite Campus at a previous district and liked that it’s a web-based system offering anywhere, anytime access. “We wanted an SIS that was going to be online and that we didn’t have to manage on a server,” he said.

FSD selected two Campus Premium Products, which work seamlessly with the Campus SIS and eliminate third-party systems. The district selected Food Service to streamline cafeteria operations and Messenger with Voice, which simplifies communications to staff, students and parents. “Regarding Messenger with Voice, we’re excited about the capability for teachers, and not just the main office staff, to push out messages to students,” said Jones.

The district went live in July 2016 and looks forward to the ease of receiving continuous product innovation from Campus’ 200 in-house developers. “About twice a month I spent time outside of school hours doing updates to our legacy SIS,” said Jones. “It was time consuming; with Infinite Campus it’s all automatic, so that’s a huge benefit. Overall, switching to Infinite Campus was well worth it,” Jones said.
