Unique Student IDs
Unique student IDs can be assigned to all students by the state whether districts are using Infinite Campus or not. These unique IDs provide an alternative to the use of Social Security numbers or district-assigned numbers for ease in matching a student to their teachers, grades, assessments and college entrance exams.

Student identification can be performed manually using a Web browser or automatically via Web messaging. When entering the student for the first time, the system checks to see if the student has already been entered to avoid duplication of records. This ID is then assigned to the student in perpetuity.

Student Locator
Users from across the state or region, whether the district is using Infinite Campus or not, can use the student locator tool to confirm if a particular student has been assigned a unique student ID. If the lookup indicates that the student has not been assigned an ID, one is automatically generated. If the student locator indicates that a student does have a unique student ID within the state, the system can initiate a district-to-district record transfer.

District-to-District Data Transfer
District-to-district student transfers are simplified when states and regions along with their districts use Infinite Campus. If the student is found within the district, the existing record is recalled and can be used by the new school. If the student is found in another district within a state or region using Infinite Campus, the student’s directory information (i.e., state reporting info) is loaded into the student’s new district system.

The student’s record request is then sent to the district where the student was last enrolled. The sending district then releases the detailed student records, eliminating re-entry of information. This automation is available only for districts using Infinite Campus. All student data elements tracked by the system are available for transfer between districts.

Enrollment Overlap Management
Because enrollments are tracked in real time, overlapping enrollment records can be detected and corrected when they occur, as opposed to at the end of the year.
