The School District of the City of Erie Selects Infinite Campus Student Information System

Oct. 20, 2008 – Blaine, Minn. – Infinite Campus, Inc. announced that it was selected to provide its student data management system to the School District of the City of Erie (SDCE), Pennsylvania.

The vision for the SDCE is to become the first world-class urban district in the country. To accomplish this, it needed to update its 30-year-old homegrown mainframe system. The district, serving 12,500 students, was awarded a $15 million, five-year grant in April 2007 from GE Foundation Developing Futures™ in Education program. One of the many projects earmarked for that grant was to fund a new system.

In reviewing vendors, the district determined that Infinite Campus has the best-in-class scheduling and ad hoc query tools, as well as excellent security for access to information and backup. In addition, Infinite Campus supports meaningful, engaged teaching and learning, strengthens curriculum and instruction, improves student/teacher collaboration, provides appropriate data access to all, tracks student progress, and enhances communication with parents.

Erie School District worked closely with Custom Computer Specialists, the Infinite Campus Channel Partner for the northeast region. “We are pleased that Erie selected Infinite Campus,” said Alan Lacher, vice president for Custom Computer Specialists. “Infinite Campus can help them better manage their volumes of data, which will help teachers and administrators make informed decisions regarding the educational progress of each student.
