May 27, 2008 – Arden Hills, Minn., – Santa Cruz City Schools, serving students within the city of Santa Cruz, California, and communities from Davenport to Soquel, has selected Infinite Campus as its district-wide student data management system.
Santa Cruz wanted a true web-based system with single data entry to share real-time information across the district. After a thorough review of national and regional student information systems, Infinite Campus was selected.
“Our former student data management system was outdated, requiring us to maintain 11 different servers. We needed a more efficient system to manage our data,” said Susan Doucette, Santa Cruz City Schools IT Manager. “In addition, we needed a system that could provide improved state reporting, assessment and analysis tools. Infinite Campus came out on top.”
Santa Cruz had previously used SASIxp version 9.1 for student information management. When it was decided to search for a new vendor, a committee of teachers, registrars, administers, nurses, attendance clerks, school secretaries and district level people was formed.
“As a committee, we determined the ‘must have’ features, including 100% web-based; a comprehensive support package that includes hardware, nightly backups and upgrades; and the ability to include local assessments and ad hoc reporting for specialized analysis,” said Doucette. “In addition, we wanted to work with a forward-thinking company, using the latest technology tools.”
Infinite Campus has proven success with more than 1200 districts nationwide, and a solid presence in California.
“Santa Cruz sees the many advantages of Infinite Campus,” said Ashton Faires, Infinite Campus Western Regional Sales Manager. “The single-data entry will save time and ensure improved data accuracy. The ability to import, store and analyze the endless amount of assessment data for longitudinal reporting, will help them make better decisions for the future. And the integrated, web-based communication tools with real-time access will be a tremendous asset for administrators, teachers, students and parents.”
Santa Cruz City Schools serves close to 7000 students. They go live with Infinite Campus in January 2009.
