Feb. 4, 2008 – Arden Hills, Minn. – Infinite Campus announced today that the Maine Department of Education (DOE) selected Infinite Campus to replace its existing Maine Education Data Management System (MEDMS), a student and staff data collection and reporting system. Although MEDMS met the initial reporting requirements established in 2001, the DOE leadership, along with the Data Management Team, determined it was no longer capable of meeting growing state and LEA data requirements and needed to be replaced with a more comprehensive statewide student information system. Maine DOE chose Infinite Campus State Edition.
"Infinite Campus will provide Maine with an integrated solution with the State Edition, and a full featured District Edition supporting our regionalization initiative. It also gives us remote hosting, reducing state and LEA technology infrastructure overhead expenses," said Susan Gendron, Maine Commissioner of Education. "Infinite Campus is an important component in Maine’s Statewide Longitudinal Data System that will provide the LEAs with timely and accurate data to support decisions to improve student achievement."
In addition to the State Edition, the Maine DOE will offer the hosted Infinite Campus District Edition at a no cost option to regions. District-wide usage of the Infinite Campus District Edition gives Maine DOE access to the student data required at the state level eliminating traditional state reporting. Districts will be able to leverage an integrated student management system that streamlines data entry and improves district efficiency.
"We are pleased that the Maine DOE has selected Infinite Campus as its statewide student management solution and offering it to their districts," said Charlie Kratsch, Infinite Campus Founder and CEO. "The Maine DOE has recently experienced a successful implementation of a new finance system, and I expect the same success with the Infinite Campus implementation. Our proven Accelerated Implementation Methodology (AIM) has a history of seamless, on time and on budget implementations. Maine will benefit from our expertise in working with five other states and more than 1,200 district implementations."
The implementation of the Infinite Campus State Edition will begin on Feb. 4, 2008 with an anticipated go-live date of August 2008, and will serve 200,000 students.
