Madison Metropolitan School District Selects Infinite Campus as Their Student Information System

June 27, 2006 Arden Hills, Minn.,– Madison Metropolitan School District has selected Infinite Campus as its student information system with a planned go-live date in August 2006. Founded in 1838, the Madison Metropolitan School District is the second largest school district in Wisconsin serving approximately 25,000 students in 46 schools.

“We are pleased that Madison has selected Infinite Campus as their student management system,” said Charlie Kratsch, founder and CEO of Infinite Campus. “Our product will help them streamline processes freeing administrators and staff so they can focus on their students and continue their excellent record of achievement.”

For more than 12 years, Infinite Campus has been providing student information systems for districts and regional consortia nationally including 24 districts and over 90,000 students in Wisconsin.

“Our current student information system is 18 years old and is based on an aging programming language,” said Kurt Kiefer, planning/research and evaluation of Madison School District. “With Infinite Campus our district will benefit from the latest technology available which will help us provide better communications to a wider audience, achieve efficiencies to let us spend more time focusing on our students, and simplify our state and federal reporting requirements.”

The Infinite Campus system is centralized and completely integrated letting users benefit from student data being entered by anyone in the district. The system provides access for each user, including teachers, counselors and administrators, with secure, user-defined access to their student’s data through a standard Web browser.

“The new system will give our staff the ability to access student data from any browser-based system within our schools, at home, or when they are traveling,” continued Kiefer. “This will reduce the time and expense typically associated with managing individual computers, reduce duplicate data entry, and let us share more data across the district.”

The centralization of Infinite Campus and its ability to share data will give Madison administrators the ability to analyze any aspect of its student body to make data driven decisions. Infinite Campus will also help streamline state and federal reporting with its built-in reporting capabilities which are constantly being reviewed and updated to include any changes enacted by the Wisconsin legislature and Department of Education or the federal government.

“Our administration will be able to view the entire district, a particular school, grade level, or an individual student when making decisions through a browser,” stated Kiefer. “We will be able to use this aggregated information to help us to continue to overachieve both on Wisconsin and federal assessments.”

The agreement was effective Apr. 1, 2006.
