Infinite Campus Releases Emergency Notification

April 15, 2009 – Blaine, Minn. – Infinite Campus, Inc.® is pleased to announce the general release of Campus Messenger with Voice, with emergency notification capability, powered by ShoutPoint® for schools telephony service. 

This new feature leverages Infinite Campus system data to immediately distribute critical, large volume messages. Infinite Campus integration ensures the most current telephone numbers are used to place calls with no need to wait for an export of data from or to a third-party system, especially critical during urgent situations.

“We completed pilot testing of the new solution with three customers – Robbinsdale Area Schools (MN), Le Sueur-Henderson Public Schools (MN) and City Schools of Decatur (GA) – and due to their efforts this functionality is ready for general release,” states Dan Orlando, Campus Alliance Manager. “The project is scoped so any district, no matter the size, can deliver a 30 second emergency message in less than 20 minutes.”

ShoutPoint telephony service incorporates interconnected voice-over Internet protocol (VOIP) telecommunications service with high-volume call routing through its telephony network, located across the United States. This service provides dedicated ports that can expand as needed and to prioritize emergency traffic when needed.

“We considered purchasing a separate emergency messaging system but the cost and management of an additional system did not make sense,” said Al Beck, Robbinsdale Area Schools Information Systems Program Director. “With Campus Messenger with Voice, we can make daily voice communications including attendance dialing, behavior incidents and other district-specific notices, while also knowing that emergency notification is there, if an urgent situation occurs and parents need to be notified without delay.”

Infinite Campus district customers no longer will have to invest in hardware or long distance charges. This enhancement is available for any Infinite Campus customer regardless of size or hosting model at a reasonable pricing structure.

Campus Messenger with Voice 2009.2 is now generally available. ShoutPoint telephony service may also be eligible for Federal E-rate funding.
