Central Bucks School District Live on Infinite Campus

May 9, 2006 Arden Hills, Minn., - Infinite Campus, Inc. of Arden Hills, Minn. announced that the Central Bucks School District went live April 17 on Infinite Campus which will be used as their district-wide student data and education process management system. Central Bucks, the third largest district in the state of Pennsylvania with 20,000 students, purchased Infinite Campus in January.

“We are pleased that Central Bucks has selected and successfully implemented Infinite Campus as their student management system,” said Charlie Kratsch, founder and CEO of Infinite Campus. “Our product will help streamline their management processes freeing administrators and staff so they can focus on students and continue their excellent record of achievement.”

The system has been in use approximately three weeks. Users at Central Bucks prefer the new system over their previous outdated system while also seeing future potential opportunities by being able to make data-driven decisions using current, real-time student data.

“Our current student information system is 10 years old and is based on an outdated programming language,” said Debbie Amerman, Information Technology Manager for Central Bucks School District. “Infinite Campus will help us provide staff members with access to student information in a more efficient manner to assist with data-driven decisions. Ultimately, the program provides more instructional time as well.”

Infinite Campus is managed through a centralized integrated database providing real-time information to teachers, counselors, administrators and staff. When an Infinite Campus user enters data into the system, everyone can view the changed data immediately without waiting for overnight uploads or data synchronizations.

“The ability to use a standard Web browser to access the Infinite Campus system will reduce the time spent by staff to keep individual computers current in each classroom with the latest versions of software,” continued Amerman. “It also lets us centrally manage role-based and secure access to student data ensuring that only authorized users have access to student's information.”

With the ability to provide role-based access for users, Central Bucks teachers can now access their student's data in real-time through a standard Web browser. Teachers can take attendance; manage assignments and do grading through one login. Teachers, administrators and counselors will benefit from using this data in real-time to make timely decisions regarding instruction. 

“With Infinite Campus we will be able to provide our teachers with the data they need about each student in their classroom,” said Amerman. “They can quickly understand each student's status and make instruction or curriculum changes needed to ensure each student is reaching their potential. Teachers and administrators are eager to begin working in the new program.”

Central Bucks will also be using the Campus Scheduling Wizard for fall class scheduling. The Schedule Wizard provides the district's schedulers with the real-time ability to try any combination of classroom scheduling to obtain any number of desired outcomes. If there are special requests the system will also accept the requests, optimize the seating of students in each section and automatically adjust the schedules of affected students without manual data entry.

“We are looking forward to using the Campus Scheduling Wizard to quickly set up and test many different scheduling variations,” continued Amerman. “The Wizard will manage classroom scheduling, saving time and optimizing the available course opportunities for our students.”

Infinite Campus will also help simplify state and federal reporting with its built-in reporting capabilities which are constantly being reviewed and updated. Infinite Campus works closely with each state department of education and customers to ensure the reports are accurate and upload in the state's desired format. 

“Our administration will be able to view the entire district, a particular school, grade level or an individual student when making decisions,” stated Amerman. “We will be able to use this information to help us reduce the amount of time assembling the required reports.”
