Atlanta Public Schools Selects Infinite Campus for Student Data Management

June 17, 2008– Arden Hills, Minn. – Atlanta Public Schools (APS), serving approximately 50,000 students, selected Infinite Campus as their district-wide student data management system. APS will be implementing the Infinite Campus District Edition, a fully integrated, comprehensive, web-based system. With an unprecedented, aggressive implementation plan of three months, an August 4th go-live is planned.

“We were looking for a system with true integration and real-time access to information,” said Philip Gibson, Atlanta Public School’s Data Collection Manager of Student Information. “Our previous system could no longer meet our needs for parent communication, data analysis and ease of use. After a thorough review of several vendors, it was decided that Infinite Campus is the best system out there to meets our needs.”

Essential criteria for the selection included scalability of the system, so it would grow with the district and the availability of maintenance and support. Infinite Campus has a proven record working with districts of all sizes, and training and support have consistently received high marks from other customers.

Atlanta Public Schools saw the potential for a return on investment with Infinite Campus. “We expect to save time and resources, while we increase overall data accuracy,” said Gibson. “Campus Schedule Wizard, with the drag and drop functionality, will help simplify a very complex task.” Other tools, such as the one-time data entry for attendance, will allow staff to focus their time on what really matters – working with students.

Teachers have also expressed enthusiasm for Infinite Campus. Having the ability to enter grades from the comfort of home is a real asset. They will have secure access to important student information to manage lesson plans, and they will enjoy increased communication with parents, so there will be no surprises at conference time.

Atlanta Public Schools had their implementation kick off the end of April and it is currently underway.
