Four Iowa School Districts Select Infinite Campus as Their Student Information System

Jan. 30, 2007 – Arden Hills, Minn., Infinite Campus, Inc. of Arden Hills, Minn., today announced that Burlington Community School District, Johnston Community School District, Oskaloosa Community School District and Southeast Polk Community School District have selected Infinite Campus as their district-wide student and education process management system.

“We are pleased that these four districts have joined the growing number of Iowa schools selecting Infinite Campus as their student data management system,” said Charlie Kratsch, founder and CEO of Infinite Campus. “These Iowa districts will be able to leverage information technology to more effectively use their resources and to respond to future changes in education.”

With separate contracts, these four districts total over 17,000 students with an expected go-live date of July 1, 2007.

“The Burlington Community School District’s system could not cope with the huge data management requirements brought about by the 2002 No Child Left Behind act,” said Jane Evans, assistant superintendent of schools. “We wanted a student information system with the power to serve our needs well into the future. We analyzed several systems and chose Infinite Campus because it was web-based, full-featured and user friendly.

“Infinite Campus has a superior track record with districts our size and larger in the state of Iowa,” continues Evans. “They will be able to respond to the ever-changing data requirements of the Iowa Department of Education.”

Infinite Campus student data is managed through a centralized database providing real-time information to those who need it. When an Infinite Campus user enters data into the system, authorized users can view the changed data immediately without waiting for overnight uploads or data synchronizations.

Teachers, administrators and counselors benefit from using secure, real-time data to help them make effective decisions. Parents, guardians, and students benefit by being able to access data via the Web to understand assignments, attendance and grades.

Infinite Campus works in partnership with V.i.P.S. of Marion, Iowa. V.i.P.S. worked closely with these four districts to assess their needs and determine solutions.

Scott Weiss, V.i.P.S. President, said, “By using Infinite Campus, these districts will be able to focus on eliminating duplication efforts and focus resources on serving students, staff and parents with the goal of improving overall student achievement. Infinite Campus provides that.”  V.i.P.S. will be instrumental in providing local service and support.
