Oct. 12, 2009 – Blaine, Minn. – Washoe County School District (WCSD) in Reno, Nev., serving 63,300 students, has selected Infinite Campus District Edition as its district-wide student information system. As their legacy system was discontinued, the district did a thorough review of several information systems. Infinite Campus was clearly the first choice.

“In the past, we faced many challenges with reporting, data analysis, and district-wide communication,” said Geoff Cornelius, WCSD’s Student Applications Supervisor. “We needed a system that would align with our goals and meet all of the needs of a district our size, as well as allow for growth and future changes in technology.”

Washoe County School District also wanted to enhance communication among parents, teachers, students and staff. They needed a system that could handle their complex reporting requirements, allow them to make data-driven decisions and give users access to real-time information from any place.

“Our primary goal was to purchase a system that will support building a world-class school district,” said Cornelius. “Infinite Campus is the right system to help us achieve this. It is a leader in student information technology and has a vision for education in the future.”

Ashton Faires, Infinite Campus Western Regional Sales Manager, worked with WCSD to show how Infinite Campus could help them accomplish their goals. “The Washoe County School District selection committee saw the many advantages of Infinite Campus,” said Faires. “They did a thorough request for response and total cost of ownership analysis and clearly saw that Infinite Campus was not only the best solution, but the best long-term value for their district.”

As the first Infinite Campus district in Nevada and the second largest district in the state, WCSD joins the growing number of districts in 43 states that have experienced proven results with Infinite Campus.

Washoe County School District will go live July 2, 2010.
